18-200 Tamron vs Sony 18-250
I've ordered the A55 with the kit lens because I'm impatient and that was the only way I could find it. I have no interest in the kit lens and intended to get the Sony 18-250mm lens. Now I see talk of a Tamron 18-200mm and it is currently only $189.95 at amazon.com with an already low price and a rebate good through December 31.
Can anyone compare these two? I don't care that much about the reach difference between these two because I would probably at some point buy a longer zoom or use a different ...

I don't see any of these lenses getting a lot of love here, but my plan right now is to get the D3100 and just leave one of these lens on it 90% of the time as my main carry around.
Then migrate into the D7000 or D300 replacement, but no hurry on that. I want to build a Nikon system over time. I really like the color rendition I've seen on the samples posted here. Thanks in advance for your input. Nikon 18-200mm or Tamron/Sigma 18-250mm?

Everywhere I read, I see that 18-200 IQ is significantly worse than 18-250. Whether Sigma, Sony, Tamro, etc, people always say "The 18-250 is MUCH better than the 18-200" however Ive never seen a single direct comparison where the two lenses were tested side by side in the same scene.
Does this exist?
I'm wondering if the IQ difference is really quite as big as people are claiming, or if its more of a minor difference which has been exaggerated over time. Super Zoom Challenge: 18-200 vs 18-250

A77 has seen pretty light usage probably around 3-4k pics. Comes with box and accessories. Tamron is in good shape no scuffs or scratches with hood, no box.

Your advice is really needed. I'm going on a 3 month holiday and because of weight restrictions I can only take one lens. I do tend to use the zoom quite frequently as I like to get in close, but of course the wide angle is just as important. Which of these two lenses would you choose for a travel lens the Tamron 18-270 F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD or the Sigma 18-250 F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM? I have read quite a bit on both lenses and know that they are far from perfect - I can't quite work out if ... Advice needed D5100 - Lens Sigma 18-250 HSM or Tamron 18-270 PZD

I have a lot of miles on this lens with my A700.
It seems that the Tamron 270 might be a worth while upgrade for the A77?
