Buyers of new Hasselblad H4D's can get their hands on a fully functional copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom software at no extra charge it has been revealed.
From 12 March 2012 all newly purchased medium format Hasselblad H4D cameras will include a copy of the editing software for free following Hasselblad's agreement with Adobe Systems Incorporated.

Hasseblad is set to reduce the price on the H4D cameras, by as much as $11,000 / 6,200 Euros on the H4D-60 bringing the price to 23,900 euros ($30,995 / £21,995). Under the revised pricing structure the H4D-31 (incl. 35-90mm lens) has been reduced by 3,565 euros to 11,995 euros, the H4D-40 is reduced by 1,000 euros; the H4D-50 by 3,000 euros; the H4D-50MS by 3,000 euros; the H4D-200MS by 4,500 euros and the CFV-50 Digital Back by 2,000 euros.

Hasselblad's Pro Centre is offering a day's studio facility normally worth £650 ex VAT, plus all-day access to a professional digital operator for any photographer buying H4D-40, H4D-50 and H4D-60 models bought before June 30, 2012. The offer is not applicable to the 'entry-level' H4D-39.

So it's a 50mp sensor, akin to the Phase One P65+ or similar backs, but they're claiming 200mp, is this an inflated spec somewhat like the ~12mp Sigma SD1 getting 40mp with Foveon technology? Or is it some sort of grid/panorama composite system to make a larger image with higher pixel count? is the Hasselblad H4D-200MS the medium format Sigma SD1?1854
