To my knowledge, you can't remove the flicker. It is the camera taking a picture while the fluorescent is not on so that frame is going to be dark. That's why Kino's are so special. They are made to flash faster than a shutter. The only thing to do is watch shooting around flourescents. Setting the shutter to 100 should reduce it but it also depends on if you live in PAL or NTSC land. I believe the frequencies of lights are different. Hope this helps! I shot some night time footage on my 7D (see video below for example) only to watch it back and notice the frequency of the lights were causing a flickering in certain shots. Does anyone know of a way to reduce or even remove this flickering in post? Any filters out there that might help combat this problem?Script

It's a similar phenomenon with lights and TVs. If a light blinks 50 times per second you won't notice it with your eye. If you record it at 25fps you won't notice it either. You're gonna see that, when you increase the shutter speed the flickering will get more harsh. More shutter, more flickering.Apart from this, It's quite easy to find these questions answers. I just added a 60d to my 7d and t2i mostly for the flip out LCD. I have found that when using live view, there is much hunting while attempting to focus in low light. Many times the camera will not achieve focus auto focus at all in this specific condition.
My t2i on the other hand does achieve focus relatively quickly under the same lighting and same lens. The 7D is also swift. All other parameters are the same..

I like to shoot both video and photography at gigs and festivals, and until now have been using 1/2.3" sensor compacts albeit with crappy results in low light situations.

Last night I took some photos while watching the Perseid Meteor Shower. I noticed a red area (first photo) which I initially thought was a planet. After reviewing my other photos, I see this on all the low light images. An example can be seen in the second image.
I have tried to blow off the sensor but I suspect this is not dust. I tried to locate other threads on this but was not successful. Has anyone seen this before and is there an easy solution? I am concerned this may be an indication ... Red Areas In Low Light Images - 60D

I bought a Canon 550D about a month ago and have been shooting with it quite frequently.
But one problem i faced is that the image in LCD screen and in the PC are not same. After taking it into the PC the picture always seem slightly softer/out of focus, also the colour seems slightly pale, not as crisp. I don't know if it is a problem with the PC or with the camera.
It will be great if someone can help me. Problem with 550D image

It comes up the same in Windows Media Player, VLC, Quicktime, Premiere Pro, and Avid Media Composer. It also appears when I upload the videos to YouTube and Vimeo after editing. I've done no compression, that image is a screen capture from the original file off the camera.

Unfortunately it looks like I've got a 7D that has the much-talked about Autofocus problem. I came back from the cottage last week with about 5 good images out of 600, all of the others were just blurry enough at 50% to make the image unusable, but still look fine when fit to the LCD. There was little consistency between back and front focusing, or the amount of error: AF is all over the place.

I got problems with my 500D transferring images from camera to computer.
1. It fails to upload images from camera to the EOS utility screen.
2. The EOS Utility screen closeses by itself.
3. Image download from EOS Utility screen to computer stops mid way.
What is the best way to fix it? Would reinstallation of the software solve the problem?
