One of the best views of space shuttle Discovery’s last launch was taken by an iPhone from an airplane. Isn’t technology great!
You can read more about this video at Cosmic Log’s article Shuttle launch witnessed from above. The article also contains more launch views and a link to pictures taken from an unmanned helium balloon festooned with smart phone cameras and other gadgets.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 recently debuted with new features such as non-destructive cropping, Adaptive Wide Angle adjustments, enhanced video tools, and so much more. We thought it would be a great to find out from Bryan Hughes the inside scoop on these features. Why Bryan? Well, he's a photographer and the Photoshop Product Manager -- the perfect guy for our audience.

Accessible time lapse photography is a gift of the digital age. And now, thanks to Boinx Software, it's easier than ever to create stop motion and time lapse video with just an iPad 2. I've been testing the beta version of iStopMotion for iPad ($4.99 in the App Store), and I can tell you right now... it's a blast.

You could call it: "time lapse photography made easy." I mounted an iPhone 4S on a Gymbl tripod and launched the Joby Gorillacam app to make this 1-minute recording of Friday morning at PhotoPlus Expo just as the doors were opening.
The video consists of 328 frames played at 6 frames per second. I used the Pro version of QuickTime Player 7 to take the individual frames from the iPhone and make the movie. The images were automatically sent to my Mac using Photo Stream.

I am for the most part an Apple guy…why? Well the iPhone imho was the first of the proper smart phones (prior to that with symbian etc they never fulfilled their potential for me) and no, this is not fanboy talk. Am far from an Apple fanboy. I have not time for “Apple is god” or “Android forever” or mine is better than yours, that should have been left behind in the playground before you hit puberty! A very camp pose from me from the epic room corner window!
Since I finished my room with a view project back in October (although I only cut it early Feb) I haven’t really done much timelapse at all. Not that I am sick of it, just taking a much needed break from shooting timelapses every where I go, although it is a wonderful way to document my travels and I really should do them for everywhere I stay still as it will make a great way of remembering where I have been.

When it comes to controlling and viewing your images, tethering to a computer is a nice luxury that beats looking at 3″ screen on the back of a DSLR. The problem is that lugging a computer around, even if it’s just a laptop, and having wires running around between your laptop and camera are not always the most convenient and mobile solution, especially if you have to be on the move.
Now, there is a new solution on Kickstarter. The CameraMator is a wireless tether unit that runs its own wifi hotspot. ...CameraMator Lets You Wirelessly Control Your DSLR from an iPad
