I had actually given up doing Timelapses from hotels rooms after my year long project “A Room With A View” finished around October last year. The results were fun but the constant clicking at night certainly was not!! It was lovely to have peace and quiet again! Then on my last night in Australia in February I stayed in a hotel with a magnificent view of the Sydney Harbour. I made a film of that called 3513.
I write this in my hotel room in San Francisco which has to be honest a very uninspiring view. ...

Colin Mika and Brandon Vedder of created this amazing time-lapse video of Los Angeles by photographing the city through a “snow globe”. They captured 4000 images with a custom rig, which consisted of a Canon 5D Mark II, a homemade tilt-shift lens, a light bulb filled with water, and paper cutouts for shaped bokeh. It is not often that we see tow of our favorite techniques used in a single film. photographers Colin Mika & Brandon Vedder of All Cut Up Films created this beautiful time lapse of Los Angeles with a twist (or actually two).
The first is that the entire film was shot through a snow globe, which I assume means that the camera was upside down for the entire duration of the shoot.
The second is the use of paper cut filters to achieve a shaped bokeh.

I had a couple of minutes in between organizing some folders for this Seattle Formula Drift edit and decided to take 2 slow 60fps motion clips and do some slow mo. My full length Seattle Edit should be up by Monday so look out for it. The video is uploaded in 1080p so if you have a slow comp and internet connection I suggest turning off "HD". Enjoy!
